Embrace the autumn season and make it a memorable time with the help of an autumn bucket list!
Autumn is my favorite time of year. Everything from the smells wafting through the air, the sweaters, the pumpkins, to the vibrant falling leaves make this season magical. Unfortunately, the time can pass so quickly and I don’t get to really soak it in. One thing I do every year to try and fight the rapid passage of time is a simple autumn bucket list. This easy little list is a wellspring of inspiration to help me soak in every delicious moment of the season.
Amp Yourself Up
There is something enjoyable in every season (yes, even the depths of winter) that you can get yourself excited about. Making a seasonal bucket list can help you look toward the future with excitement and anticipation, even with no vacation right on the horizon! Is there a holiday you are looking forward to, or a birthday? What about a seasonal food or drink? Add it to your bucket list!
You know I’m all up on Halloween. It’s been my favorite holiday since I was a kid. It just doesn’t get old for me! Dressing up, acting silly, and hanging out with friends is always so thrilling. I adore all the creativity that goes into making Halloween. Some people are so damn inventive with their costumes or decor! It should come as no surprise that several of my autumn bucket list entries are Halloween-related.
I can’t wait to throw my windows open for two months straight and get that crisp autumn air in the home. There is nothing better than writing my Morning Pages with that leafy, burning smell on the air that seems to permeate everything in the fall.
Encourage Memory Making Activities
If you have all of these things you are looking forward to doing, then you should make an effort to go do them! Nothing is more depressing than a whole season passing by without making any new, unique memories. That’s what the bucket list is all about – living your best life.
You might feel like you can only write down as many ideas that you can accomplish. But that’s not true! You can write down a ton of ideas and only accomplish a handful of them. The point of this list is to get you inspired for the season ahead, not to set unrealistic expectations on yourself.
For my autumn bucket list, I want to treasure the little moments, like wearing dark lipstick or enjoying a fall latte. When I do these activities and cross them off my list, I know that I will have made a memory. Maybe not a lifelong memory, but a little shining moment in that day, week, or month that I cherish. Life is all about the little things!
It’s So Easy to Do
I keep my autumn bucket list in my bullet journal with all my other plans and tasks. You could put it anywhere, though! Write it on sticky notes and stick ’em on over your desk, or write it on scrap paper and magnet it to your fridge. Just make sure it’s somewhere you see it regularly so it can inspire you day after day.
Of course, you could simply write out the header really quickly with no decorative touch if that’s what you’re into. I’m going to be looking at my autumn bucket list for a few months at least, so I thought I’d gussy it up with some basic hand lettering.
Starting an autumn bucket list is a wonderful way to get in touch with the season and appreciate the little quirks and traditions that make it unique. You can get geared up for fall and kick it off with a positive mindset. And who doesn’t love to have a plan, anyway?
