This mermaid bullet journal setup is a throwback to my July spread from 2017. It feels like so long ago!⠀

I decided to express my inner artist that month! I had several suggestions for a beach theme, so I went with it. –

Overall, I’m thrilled with how this spread turned out! I was nervous about it, but looking back, I really do think it looks great.

A Touch of Gold

I really feel like the touch of gold did a lot to really “wake up” the colors in this spread. I used Finetec Gold Watercolors for the gold, and they made this spread shine!

Making Time for Art

I’ll admit that this spread took me quite a bit of time. Some may say too much time. Why spend a few hours working on the cover page for a productivity system?

For me, the reason is simple; it’s an excuse to make time for my art. I am always looking for a chance to make time for my art, and my bullet journal allows me to do that. Time spent doing something you want to do is never wasted time.

The Calendar Page

I had to stay with an aquatic theme for the calendar page to pair with this mermaid spread, so I decided to give an octopus a try!

This monthly was a bit of a struggle, though. I initially thought I would be able to do the octopus without a reference. It turns out, that was a mistake, and I eventually pulled up a reference.
