After a very long time, I have decided to revive my regular monthly layout posts! Whoo hoo!
I stopped doing these posts over six months ago because I felt like they would be monotonous for you, my dear readers. But many of you have expressed that you wanted them back, so here we are 🙂 I think this will be an excellent opportunity to really grow and develop my monthly layouts further. I have a tendency to go on autopilot with my monthly layouts, and I like the idea of shaking it up a bit and giving these pages a little more thought.
Here’s the full list of the materials I used in my September monthly layout:
My Cover and Calendar
I really relished creating this month’s cover page and calendar. To state the obvious, I LOVE foxes. And September just feels like a fox month, you know? I am super happy with how these pages turned out because they are very simple, elegant designs. I did lots of seemingly fancy line work with the foxes, they didn’t take a ton of thought since the designs were actually rather straightforward. In fact, both foxes were quite cathartic to draw.
It was nice to have both pages have only a single subject with only a few small accents of leaves scattered around. I liked that there wasn’t a lot going on in these layouts. I was craving something simple, and I succeeded in that goal.
My Trackers and Logs
My gratitude log is pretty much the same as it always is – a list. The header is a little bit awkward with the wording because I found myself with too much extra space. I felt like I needed to fill it, and that’s how I ended up with the less than smooth heading, “I Am Thankful For This Today.” Ugh.
I decided to try something a little bit different with my affirmation Log and my memories page. These two felt like they both needed to be free form, so I just slapped on some wispy dashes of paint and stuck the headers wherever. As I fill in those logs each night, I’ll just write each entry in whatever little spot feels best. I think they’ll look awesome!
And my habit tracker is as simple as ever. I added one new habit – clear the sink. Now that we’ve moved to a new place with no dishwasher, this is essential to keeping our tiny kitchen from being overwhelmed with dirty dishes. I’m hoping to develop that habit really quick and avoid dirty dishes chaos.
I decided to omit my mood mandala for this month because I just wasn’t really feeling it these last few months. Maybe I’ll pick it up later, but I’m okay stepping away from it for a while.

That’s all there is for this month! I am stoked to step into autumn once again (my favorite), and I hope you enjoy the month as much as I will!
