I’m Making a Big Change and I Want You to Know Why

Hey friends! I know I don’t typically write posts like this without some handy tip or technique, but something big is about to change on Little Coffee Fox and I wanted to talk to you about it.

After a lot of deliberating, I’ve decided that I’m going to put ads on my site.

I know that this is not a fun thing to hear. Ads are not exactly the most lovely thing in the whole world, and I’ve managed to run this site for years without them. However, the unfortunate reality is I’m not making enough money for this to be a sustainable job. As you know, I’ve been blogging full time since August of 2016. For over eight months, I’ve been diligently working – creating new content, launching the Resource Library, and trying to be as helpful as I can for you guys. After all this time, though, I’ve decided that I need to step up my income with the help of AdThrive. They are a great company who I had the pleasure of chatting with in person at the SNAP! Conference, so I feel confident that they will do right by you.

If you are upset by this change in events, I definitely understand. But please realize that if I don’t do something to build up my income, then I’m going to have to put Little Coffee Fox on the back burner and go get a “real job” – which means far less free content for you and a very unsatisfied Shelby. I don’t want to give this site up. I don’t want to give you up. You who has helped build this community and make it into more than a site – you have helped me chase my dreams and give my life more purpose than ever before.

I thought I could make this work without ads, but part of being an adult is admitting when I’m wrong. And I waited as long as I could.

What does this mean for you as a reader? There will be ads in the header and in the sidebar. There will also be ads in the blog posts.

All in all, not much will change. I will still do what I’ve always done: create content to educate, entertain, and hopefully inspire. In fact, with a more steady income, I might start producing more content for you! With a more constant income, I won’t have to wear myself out jumping on every opportunity I can to make some extra cash. I can spend less time chasing down little leads and spend more time making quality stuff for you.
